Collaborators prepare work for Vertical Pathways

The RESTORE project provided low-cost classes most weekends through May 2019. Fall and early winter classes offered opportunities to learn or refine skills in a variety of materials and techniques, including clay, woodworking, metalworking, concrete, dry point, block printing, and more. Late winter and spring classes focused on personal and collaborative projects, studio time, mentoring and guidance to create work.
While participants joined for just one class, MAC encouraged folks to come to a series of classes and collaborate in project design and implementation for a new Art Walk on Rabbit Hill, and/or to work towards a large-scale personal work for exhibition at MAC or at the EcoArts Sculpture Walk. Entries were juried.
Work from Writing and Printmaking classes contributed to MAC’s second chapbook of writings and images, and poetry readings included the celebratory reopening of the EcoArts Sculpture Walk. Works from printmaking classes may be included in exhibits in other locations in Lake County including Lakeport City Hall and Adventist Health hospital Clearlake. Our first chapbook, Resilience – a community reframes disaster through art, is available here.
