Lisa Kaplan, Executive Director/Art Director
lkaplan@middletownartcenter.org An artist and art educator, Lisa is committed to contributing through the power of Art. She became President of EcoArts in 2015 and was part MAC's founding team. She has led the curation of 47 compelling exhibits at MAC, and 5 Sculpture Walks. She has been instrumental in MAC's development especially following Valley Fire devastation and had led the MAC Team in a variety of grant awarded projects, and program development including school field-trips and Community College art classes. Lisa has taught art for over 35 years and has exhibited locally, nationally and internationally. She brings an international perspective to rural Lake County. |
Mary Wilson, President, Programs Committee Co-chair mwilson@middletownartcenter.org
Mary Wilson holds a Master of Science in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. A transplant from Wisconsin, she has lived in Lake County since October 2016 when she moved here for the position she holds with the Lake County Campus of Woodland Community College (LCC): Student Engagement and Outreach Specialist for Adult Education. Before moving to Northern California, she was the Site Coordinator for a tribal college on the Lac du Flambeau reservation for a decade. Her non-profit board experience is eight years on the board of a private Montessori school in Milwaukee and two years on the Workforce Alliance of North Bay, Lake County sub-committee. |
Barbara Clark, Treasurer, Finance Committee
bclark@lakearts.org Barbara is an actor and singer, and the Executive Director of Lake County Arts Council. She participates in a variety of performing arts groups and civic committees throughout Lake County. Barbara bolsters our team with her non-profit skills and experience including administration and management, grantwriting, and finances. |
Millie Simon, Board of Directors, Cultural Advisor
Millie Simon is a proud Pomo and Wintun Indian woman and one of two Tribal Elders remaining at the Middletown Rancheria. Born and raised on the Rancheria, Millie and her family lived off the land and nearby creeks until about 1975. She witnessed the transformation of creeks plentiful with fish into dried creek beds and fertile food-source fields and forests into private property with new construction. She bears the traditions of basket weaving and wildcrafting and represents her Tribe on the County Museum's Tribal Advisory Committee and Indian Health board. She joined the MAC Board to collaborate and advise on cross cultural programs with local Tribal communities. |
Zabdy Neria, Board of Directors, Outreach
zabdy.neria@gmail.com Zabdy is an advocate for wellness and for youth. She believes that art connects people of all backgrounds and cultures. Art is self-expression, discovery, and healing. Zabdy values diversity and inclusion. Her goal is to increase art opportunities and accessibility for our community members around the lake. Zabdy holds a Masters Degree in Social Work, she works with children as a mental health professional, and was recently promoted to Dept Manager. She serves on the Konocti Unified School District Board of Trustees. Additionally, she is a proud member of the Clear Lake Rotary Club. On her days off she enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs, and she loves to sing |

Clovis@clovicelewis.com Clovice has produced a wide range of works over a lifetime devoted to intellectual and artistic excellence. Justice and creativity is at the core of it all... A world-class composer and cellist who's music has been widely performed, Clovice's commitment to countering racism, and all other forms of oppression, is expressed in a multitude of creative ways. In a career spanning over twenty years, he has made profound contributions as a strident voice for justice and in preaching the gospel of the madness of human self-extinction. For over 35 years, Clovice has made innovative technological contributions through software design, inventions, and serial entrepreneurship. He was the first professor of Computer Music at UC Santa Barbara. Creative ways of presenting complex concepts is a hallmark of his approach towards education and training. |
